At approximately 11:21pm Bryn Mawr Fire Company was dispatched with Squad 23 to a vehicle accident with injuries in the northbound lanes of Interstate 476. Very soon thereafter reports of a multi-vehicle accident involving passenger vehicles and tractor trailers came across and a full rescue upgrade was placed. Crews from Bryn Mawr, Radnor and George Clay worked hard to rescue a young woman from the driver's seat of her car which was partially underneath a commercial truck that had struck it from behind. Crews worked simultaneously to cut the car from around her and to begin the process of lifting the box truck with air bags to gain access to the rest of her vehicle. Original reports of other occupants in that vehicle turned out to be unfounded.
